Phuket’s Big Buddha sits on the top of the Nakkerd Hills at 400 meters above sea level, offering the best 360-degree views of Phuket, taking in Phuket Town, Kata, Karon and Chalong Bay. The 45 meters tall statue can be seen from a far distance, and has become the island’s most important landmark. The whole body is covered with beautiful Burmese white marble that shines in the sun. The construction was financed through donations only, and still today, there are donation boxes where you can support this attraction. If you’re not very interested in big buddha statues, you should definitely come here for the breathtaking views.
