Kamala Beach is the first village north of Patong. This beautiful 2 km long beach is a perfect place if you want to get away from the crowds. Kamala was originally a Muslim fishing village, but which now consists of two villages; the original Muslim village and the touristic part of the beach with hotels, restaurants and shops. The southern part of the beach has a more Thai village atmosphere with a school and a Buddhist temple. During high season (November to April), when the water is calm and clear, you can rent jet skies or enjoy a longtail boat ride.
Before Laem Sing Beach, you can stop along the roadside to see the entire Kamala Beach. This bay surrounded by green hills is one hell of a beautiful place.
