Jason Statham and Jessica Alba’s Mechanic: Resurrection in Thailand

When I watched the movie Mechanic: Resurrection I was happy to see that they have filmed a few scenes in Thailand. Like many others, I wanted to know where the gorgeous beach is located, so I did some research and found out that they have been filming around Phuket and Koh Yao Yai.

Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) in a longtail boat on the way to a tropical island. I don’t think it’s a real bungalow resort, it was built just for the movie.

In the movie, they state that this is Koh Lipe, but I’m pretty sure it’s Phang Nga Bay.

So, this has to be Koh Yao Yai in Phang Nga Bay near Phuket and not Koh Lipe as stated in the movie. The beach looks awesome!

I have actually been pretty close the beach on Koh Yao Yai when we were staying at Koh Yao Noi. Read about our stay at Paradise Koh Yao.

What is the name of the bungalows in the movie?

I believe they built the bungalows just for the movie.

The pic mentioned to be Koh Lipe is mostly somewhere else, probably in Phang Nga Bay.
Have been on Koh Lipe many times but never seen many of the small little Islands.

Hi Shungo. Yes, it’s Phang Nga Bay as I wrote 🙂

The reason why is mentioned that the movie was made in koh lipe is due to the tourists. Of course it was another island (not far from phuket and phu phi) which are local people trying to protect against a lot of tourists. I live here and I can see how all the famous places are getting destroyed by tourists….

I’ve been to that place and our tourguide was bragging about this movie being shot at the island. I had no idea. I just watched this movie today.
Very peaceful island. I hope it will never become touristic.

That’s cool Katy! Is there a resort like in the movie?

        No, only a small restaurant.
        Been there this morning☺️

Leam Had is the name of the beach.
Looks better than in the movie. There is just a small reataurant with some tables and sun beds.
    Really nice!

Sounds like I have to visit that beach!
