Phuket’s 36 Beaches – A List of All Beaches in Phuket

Phuket is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Asia with millions of visitors every year. You probably already know about the beautiful beaches, but did you know that the island boasts 36 of them? Below is a list of all the beaches in Phuket.

1. Patong Beach

Patong Beach is the most famous beach in Phuket, and it’s not just because of the beautiful white sand bordered by the Andaman Sea; the nightlife is world famous and in high season it can be terribly crowded. This is the kind of place you either love or hate.

2. Karon Beach

Karon Beach is the third longest beach in Phuket and one of the most popular beaches after Patong. Karon is a family friendly resort town with a good selection of restaurants and shopping.

3. Kata Beach

Kata Beach is the second most popular beach after Patong. Kata Road has a good selection of bars, clubs, and restaurants without the craziness like Patong. During the low season when the monsoon sweep in, Kata Beach is considered the ‘Surfing Mecca’ of Phuket.

4. Surin Beach

Surin Beach – “Millionaire’s Row”

Surin Beach is a beautiful beach with fine sand and clear water. It’s not overcrowded like some other beaches, and you can relax here without the noise from jet skies and other motor vehicles. Known as “Millionaire’s Row,” Surin Beach has several luxury resorts and many celebrities choose to stay here when vacationing in Phuket.

5. Laem Singh Beach

Laem Singh Beach is just 200 meters long and hidden in a bay surrounded by palm trees and big boulders. Laem Singh was once a bit of a secret, but nowadays the beach can be packed with fellow tourists.

6. Kamala Beach

Kamala is the first village north of Patong. This beautiful 2 km long beach is a perfect place if you want to get away from the crowds. Before Laem Sing Beach, you can stop along the roadside to see the entire Kamala Beach. This bay surrounded by green hills is one hell of a beautiful place.

7. Ya Nui Beach

This lovely little beach is located in between two of Phuket’s most popular viewpoints; Phromthep Cape and Windmill Viewpoint. Ya Nui Beach features snorkeling, kayaking and paragliding.

8. Mai Khao Beach

Mai Khao Beach is an 11 km long sand stretch, making it the longest beach on Phuket. The beach is deserted at most places, but the International Airport on the south end has become a popular plane spotting location.

9. Nai Yang Beach

Nai Yang, five minutes drive from the airport, is a lovely beach full of small restaurants, popular among both locals and tourists. Locals prefer picnicking under the shade of the casuarina trees while the tourists love the idea of dining in the sun.

10. Rawai Beach

Rawai is not a good swimming beach, but a great place to enjoy seafood with a beautiful sea view. Rawai also has a nice pier to walk along.
