Club Med Resort was the first major hotel on Kata Beach, opened 1985 when mass tourism started in Phuket. The hotel controls nearly one kilometer of green land, including a golf course, and thanks to this Kata Beach does not look like Patong.
Kasikorn Bank (K-Bank) in Old Phuket Town is considered the most beautiful bank building in Thailand. Just opposite the bank, you’ll find On On Hotel which was featured in the movie The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Mai Khao Beach is the longest of Phuket’s 36 beaches. The beach is deserted at most places, but the International Airport on the south end has become a popular plane spotting location.
