If you’re looking for a good spot to take pictures of the impressive Wat Arun in Bangkok, you should consider staying at Sala Arun. This charming little hotel offers a few rooms with balcony and a view out over Chao Praya River and Wat Arun.
If you are staying in another hotel, you can always enjoy the hotel’s open-air bar on the top floor called Eagle’s Nest or the restaurant Eat Sight Story. Unfortunately, Wat Arun is under restoration at the moment with scaffolding around the temple, and it was not lighted up at evening. But it is still gorgeous.
Sala Arun is located in the center of Bangkok’s Old City with easy access to all the attractions and landmarks, such as Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha), The Grand Palace and Chinatown.
The entrance to Sala Arun.
Each room is named after the history of Kingdom in Thailand in different periods. Our room was called Ayudhaya. Fitting since I love Ayutthaya.
The bathroom with wardrobe.
View from the hotel. Wat Arun, situated on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, is one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok.
Sala Arun is a sister property to the well established Arun Residence. We booked a table at Arun Residence’s restaurant called Eat Sight Story.
As a guest at Sala Arun, we got a free drink at the bar on the top floor called Eagle’s Nest.
I’m a breakfast guy, and the only downside was the limited selection of breakfast.
