Vertigo & Moon Bar, situated on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel, is the second highest rooftop bar in Bangkok after Sky Bar at Lebua. The fully open-air rooftop bar is one of the first and most famous rooftop bars in Bangkok. Located atop a five-star hotel, Vertigo & Moon Bar request that guests observe a smart casual dress code.
A breathtaking 360-degree view! The tallest building in Thailand is seen in the background – MahaNakhon, 314 meters.
A few steps down the Moon Bar is Vertigo, which is the dining section of the rooftop.
We met up with my wife’s younger cousin and gave her a present. Last year she graduated from university and now has a well-paid job in Bangkok. We’re so proud of her!
Snacks come with the drinks that cost about 400 baht each. The bar was quite busy, but we managed to get a seat by the edge. A bit scared of heights, I was not comfortable up here as there were no glass walls or anything and it’s so freaking high. We’re talking 200 meters up!
So, summing up: The rooftop lives up to its name; I felt vertigo here looking down the city – but at the same time it was a wow moment. You can say it was a bittersweet experience.
If you get dizzy at heights, I recommend CHAR Rooftop Bar which is more on my level.
