Some useful information before moving to Thailand

Power plugs and sockets
In Thailand, the power sockets are of type A, B, C, F and O. The standard voltage is 220 V, and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. If you’re from a country with other standards, you will need an adapter.

Computers, TV’s and other electronics are just as expensive as back home. Some shopping centers are specializing in electronics, but low prices often mean poor quality without warranty.

You might think that furniture is cheap in Thailand, but it’s not.

Buying an imported car in Thailand is very expensive due import duties and taxes. However, car brands manufactured in Thailand like Honda and Toyota have lower taxes and selling prices.

The import of alcohol is regulated, and the customs impose some serious taxes which is why imported liquor, wine, and beer are expensive. Luckily, local beer and liquor are cheap.

Visas and Registrations in Thailand

Before you can move to Thailand, contact the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate to inquire which visa regulations apply in your case.
