Phuket is known for its long white sandy shores, but if rocky beaches are your thing, you won’t be disappointed. The island boasts plenty of gorgeous little beaches dotted with boulders both in crystal-clear waters and on sand. The following shows seven (possibly top seven) beautiful rocky beaches in Phuket.

40 Thai Beaches I Have Snapped a Picture Of
Thailand is a country of beautiful beaches, and I have been fortunate to see quite a few stretches of them; golden, white, seashell covered, powdery, and rocky — I love them all! Below are pictures of 40 Thai beaches in no particular order taken between 2013 and 2018.

7 Beaches Along Krabi’s Spectacular Mainland Coast
Krabi is different to places like Phuket and Koh Samui where you’ll find long white beaches with an army of umbrellas lined up on the sand and water sports like jet ski and parasailing.
In fact, Krabi is a completely different story. With its natural beauty and incredible limestone cliffs, several national parks incorporate the beaches and offshore islands why motorized water sports aren’t allowed.
You will also not see any sun loungers and umbrellas on the beaches except those outside the resorts. Below are seven beaches along Krabi’s spectacular mainland coast.
1. Railay Beach
Railay – the Paradise Around the Corner of Ao Nang
Last week I wrote about Ao Nang Beach, and if you were not impressed by that area, there’s one more place just around the corner that for sure will make you go WOW! I’m talking about Railay; a small peninsula with two bays, known as West Railay and East Railay.
Surrounded by incredible limestone cliffs, Railay (or Rai Leh) can only be reached by boat, giving it an island feel. The high cliffs attract rock climbers from all over the world, and the beautiful beaches can be packed with longtail boats and trippers from Ao Nang. Although it is a paradise, Railay is good for a day trip or a few nights — unless you are a rock climber, then you might want to stay longer.
Ao Nang Beach: Not the Most Ideal, but Very Scenic
Ao Nang Beach is not the typical white sandy beach with crystal clear water, and during high tide, the sand practically disappears. But the scenery with its limestone cliffs, palm trees and longtail boats moored along the shore is pretty stunning. Ao Nang Beach acts more like a jumping-off point for island hopping between the beautiful islands in Krabi archipelago.

Surin Beach in Phuket – Quiet Beach With Luxury Hotels
Surin Beach is a beautiful beach with fine tropical sand and clear turquoise water. It’s not overcrowded like some other beaches, and you can relax here without the noise from jet skies and other motor vehicles due to the lack of a launch area. Surin has a good selection of bars and restaurants, and some beach clubs like Catch Beach Club and Bimi Beach club with international DJ’s giving you the hottest music to dance. Many people would definitely call this their favorite beach in Phuket.
