Phi Phi is a group of stunningly beautiful islands between Phuket to the west and Krabi to the east. Phi Phi Don is the largest island and the only inhabited, and Phi Phi Leh is the one that put Krabi on the map since The Beach featuring Leonardo Dicaprio was filmed here in 1999.
The islands can be reached by boat from both Phuket and Krabi in an hour and a half to two hours. We have previously traveled to Phi Phi from Phuket, and most recently we took a ferry from Krabi Town. Ferry crossings from Krabi Town to Phi Phi Don operates four times per day at 09:00, 10:30, 13:30, 15:00 and costs 200 baht if you purchase the ticket by the pier.
We stayed one night at Phi Phi Don as our main goal was to visit Phi Phi Leh and Maya Bay early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Below is our Phi Phi journey in pictures.
